Ekosetti in Euros
What does ecology in a film or television production look like in euros? The Ekosetti in Euros guide combines the concepts of ecology and economy in presenting sustainable practices for the audiovisual industry.
Ekosetti in Euros (E€) is a publication that highlights the relationship between economy and ecology in film and television productions. The publication does not examine individual production budgets but describes the ecological and economic impact of concrete and everyday choices made in productions. The aim of E€ is to encourage and inspire people to reflect on the idea that ecofriendly choices would always come with a higher price tag and to provide evidence that more responsible solutions can also save money.
Ekosetti in Euros has been published in Finnish and English in February 2025. It is an independent follow-up to the Ekosetti – A Guidebook to Sustainable Audiovisual Production in Finland, which has been published in autumn 2019.
Ekosetti in Euros has been written by Kaisa “Kaika” Astikainen and Anne Puolanne. The publication and its additional materials have been implemented by APFI as part of the Avaus Sustainability Project, and it has been funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture from the structural fund for culture and creative industries.
